Ecole-Valentin la chapelle de la Mission

The Diocesan Missionaries were priests sent by their bishop to visit the parishes of the diocese to meet the inhabitants for pastoral purposes. At École-Valentin (1816-1818), they built buildings with a chapel, where they remained until 1977. The buildings were sold, with only the chapel remaining the property of the diocese. Made available to the Diocesan Commission for Sacred Art, it became a conservatory for sacred art, where objects that were no longer in use following the liturgical renewal decided by the Second Vatican Council and that parishes were unable or unwilling to keep were deposited. Six stained glass windows created by Father Pierre-Alain Couturier, known as Brother Marie-Alain (1897-1954), bear witness to the revival of sacred art.
