Based in Chalezeule, near Besançon, the Le Criollo chocolate factory has been offering handmade creations combining expertise and gourmet pleasure for over 20 years.
In the shop, open Monday to Saturday, you'll find a wide choice of chocolates: bars, pralines, ganaches, regional specialities such as croquine comtoise, and gift boxes.
Le Criollo also offers free guided tours of its workshop on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 2.30pm (booking required). For around an hour, you can learn about the history of chocolate and the company, watch a short film, sample a few specialities and watch the chocolate-makers at work in the production workshops. Tours are open to individuals and groups, and are accessible to people with reduced mobility.
