TimeWorld brings together manufacturers, researchers and academics to brainstorm ideas and launch new collaborations. The event is also open to the general public, who will be able to take advantage of conferences, debates and a concert (Quatuor Ellipsos), which will punctuate the three days. What's special about TimeWorld? A host of researchers from the basic and experimental sciences as well as the humanities and social sciences are expected to attend. They include Cédric Villani (mathematician, Fields Medal winner) and Etienne Klein (physicist, philosopher of science). They will be addressing this key theme through their different areas of expertise. Four aspects of the limit will be addressed. The measured limit will involve mathematics, physics, computer science, industry, etc. The limit in the living world will be examined through the prism of medicine, climatology, geology and evolution. The perceived limit will be highlighted in cognition, psychology, philosophy, sociology, etc. The limit in art, meanwhile, will be observed in literature, music, visual arts, cinema and games.
