Once again this year, the Citadelle is taking part in European Museum Night, opening its doors free of charge as night falls. Thanks to guest artists and the conservation and mediation teams, visitors will be able to discover the Musée comtois, the Musée de la Résistance et de la Déportation and the Muséum in a whole new way. They can also enjoy an exceptional view of Besançon illuminated.

Meet the animal world from an original angle...
The Museum's zoo is home to a number of species in danger of extinction. As well as their endangered status, these fascinating animals awaken our senses in more ways than one... During Museum Night, come and sharpen your hearing, discover unexpected smells or hone your vision, accompanied by an animal mediator-guardian. An uncertain but unusual experience!

Every year, many donors entrust the museum with objects and archives from their families. Through them, they reveal the story of the Second World War from a human perspective. Come and preview some of these latest acquisitions on Museum Night!

The deportation art collection, an exceptional treasure trove
The Musée de la Résistance et de la Déportation houses an exceptional collection of deportation art, mainly drawings made clandestinely in the camps and prisons of the Reich. It contains over 600 works, making it one of the finest collections in Europe.
