Its cultural offerings...
The Diocesan Centre aims above all to fulfil its vocation as a centre for welcoming people and bringing them together. As such, every year it hosts a variety of cultural events:
- conferences
- exhibitions
- concerts
- film and theatre workshops
- visits to the Seminary as part of the "Besançon, ville d'Art et d'Histoire" (Besançon, City of Art and History) programme and the services offered by the Grammont Library at the diocesan centre.
The originality of the diocesan centre's cultural offering consists in highlighting different artistic expressions; this programme is in line with one of the site's vocations: as a religious heritage site open to all, it aims to become a place for dialogue where the relationship between culture and faith is enriched, and where essential questions for the people of our time are shared.
For more information, visit the Centre Diocésain de Besançon website.
The Diocesan Centre is part of the history of the Grand Séminaire. The seminary, its listed chapel, its interior courtyards, its grand staircase, its music pavilion and its library all form part of a heritage that is regularly visited.
The Diocesan Centre also houses a religious bookshop called Passage 18.
