Le Théâtre Ledoux
Le Théâtre Ledoux
The city theater was built in 1778, based on plans by Claude Nicolas Ledoux, according to a design new for the time.
Ledoux creates an amphitheater-like room, eliminates the boxes, provides the parterre with seats and creates the first orchestra pit in the world. The room was destroyed by fire in 1958, then rebuilt.
