    From Claude-Nicolas Ledoux's theatre to the Chamars promenade, the south-western sector of Besançon has undergone profound changes over the centuries.
    Redrawn by Vauban's fortifications in the 17th century on the Chamars side, it saw the creation of the intendance district in the 18th century, the development of a water station in the following century and the arrival of the tram very recently.
    Prices: €8 - €6 for students, under 18s, members of the Tourist Office (on presentation of a card), disabled people. Free for under 12s and jobseekers.
