Ginko VéloCité: self-service bicycles in Besançon
Since May 2025, Ginko VéloCité has offered a modernised fleet of 200 bicycles - 100 mechanical and 100 electric - at 32 stations in Besançon. The bikes are available 24/7, with the first half-hour free for standard bikes. The stations have been modernised, in particular with the addition of 85 extra attachment points to make it easier to recharge electric bikes. Three new stations have been installed in the Bouloie district, notably near the Léo-Lagrange stadium, the IUT and the Crous. A dedicated mobile application makes it easy to locate the stations and unlock the bikes. This service is part of Grand Besançon Métropole's drive to promote soft and sustainable mobility.
