Developed gradually in the second half of the 19th century at the instigation of the mayor Jules Micaud, with a view to embellishing the city and on the plans of the architect Alphonse Delacroix, the Micaud promenade offers the charms of an English park. . Tulip trees, paulownias, magnolias and sophoras punctuate the promenade, their judiciously disciplined foliage offers views of the escarpments of the Citadel.
