La Porte Noire

Erected around 175 AD in honor of the Emperor Marcus Aurelius, this Gallo-Roman triumphal arch is characterized by a very rich sculpted decoration. Its columns are decorated with plant motifs, legendary scenes (mythology) and combat scenes.
