Un Cercle Immense
Un Cercle Immense
At the heart of the Circle
Since June 2022, the Royal Saltworks has enhanced its 5-hectare visitor trail with landscaping designed by the Mayot & Toussaint agency and Gilles Clément, including :
These 30 gardens have been designed as a series of plant atmospheres in which to discover the seeds that travel, move and sleep, to pass under the shade of the trees, to walk barefoot on the leaves, humus and pebbles, or to stop and contemplate the sky in the garden of time or in the giant hammock of the garden of dormancy.
In the 2nd semi-circle, a Garden Festival, whose theme changes every year, is devised by landscape design students and organised in collaboration with schools and our garden team. The garden of colours and smells, the garden of medicinal and aromatic plants, the garden of the Jura arc, the willow garden, as well as our ecological kitchen garden... complete the ensemble.
More broadly, these gardens are a place for experimenting and sharing knowledge and techniques to do as much as possible with living things and as little as possible against them... to give everyone the tools to live better, to cooperate, to help each other and to build together a more sustainable future with greater solidarity.
The Un Cercle Immense project is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).
