Conférence regards croisés

A talk by Maya Ravéreau, who will reflect on the way in which Manuelle Roche and André Ravéreau, an urban couple, have collaborated in their many works. "I am the daughter of André Ravéreau and Manuelle Roche, and an architect myself. As part of the exhibition to mark the publication of the book Algérie, mes yeux..., the Maison de l'Architecture de Franche-Comté asked me to talk about my parents in terms of their vision. It's hard to talk about my father's work without mentioning that of my mother, who spent most of her life photographing either André Ravéreau's work or the architecture that served as a basis for her thinking, as can be seen in the exhibition Algérie, mes yeux..., photographs by Manuelle Roche. Manuelle Roche was also a great help to André Ravéreau in his writing, and Manuelle was also an artist in her own right. As throughout her life, she had to fight to see her own talents recognised, I take the liberty of pointing this out emphatically, out of filial loyalty and feminine solidarity. More broadly, I will try, through this work, to share with you the way in which I see their mutual regard."
