Centre de Lumières
Immersion in UNESCO World Heritage Sites
The Royal Saltworks, in collaboration with ICONEM, is continuing to revamp its tour with its new 3D immersive space, unique in Burgundy-Franche-Comté, promising an unforgettable experience. Discover a whole part of the heritage left to humanity and let yourself be transported into the universe of the Centre of Lights.
Through eight 8-minute films, embark on a journey to the four corners of the world and (re)discover eight sites on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 3D immersion. Explore endangered, lost or inaccessible properties: Pharaonic Egypt with the Sphinx and the pyramids of Giza, the city of Palmyra in Syria, Venice in Italy, Mughal art with the tomb of Humayun, the work of Claude Nicolas Ledoux or the rock paintings of La Serrania de la Lindosa in the Colombian Amazon, rarely presented in France.
The Centre of Lights is enriched by interactive exploration islands: navigate the touch globe and answer the quiz to learn more about the notion of World Heritage and the process of inscription of sites.
Also visit a pavilion dedicated to intangible heritage with 360° videos presenting different traditions inscribed at UNESCO.
