The Besançon Franche-Comté University Orchestra presents a brand new musical project: the fusion of metal and symphony in Micropolis!
The Besançon Franche-Comté University Orchestra (OUBFC) is preparing to make regional musical history with two exceptional concerts on 18 and 19 April 2026 at Micropolis. For the first time, big bands, symphony orchestras, metal bands and choirs will come together on stage for a unique show combining raw energy and orchestral elegance.
A daring project: metal meets symphony
This unprecedented project, the fruit of a collaboration between the OUBFC, the metal band Holy Fallout, the Besançon University Choir and the Mycelium choir, promises an extraordinary musical experience. More than 200 artists will take to the stage at Micropolis, combining their talents to create a dialogue between the worlds of metal and classical music. From covers of metal classics (Nightwish, Ghost, Metallica...) to original compositions by Holy Fallout, there's something for everyone.
The ensembles on stage
- The Besançon Franche-Comté University Orchestra: A symphony orchestra and big band combined, the OUBFC brings together students and enthusiastic amateur musicians under the direction of experienced conductors. Their eclectic repertoire, ranging from classical to jazz, makes them a key player in the musical life of Besançon.
- Holy Fallout: A local metal band renowned for its on-stage energy and powerful compositions, Holy Fallout brings a modern, electrifying touch to this project.
- La Chorale Universitaire de Besançon: This dynamic vocal ensemble performs a varied repertoire, from sacred to contemporary, with high artistic standards.
- The Mycelium Choir: A product of the Académie musicale du Coude in Labergement-Sainte-Marie, this choir combines technical rigour with musical sensitivity, delivering vibrant performances.
A show not to be missed
These two evenings promise to be a highlight of the 2025-2026 cultural season. Audiences are invited to discover an original creation, where the power of metal meets the richness of symphonic and choral arrangements.
