Restitution of workshop (dance): Emmanuelle Huynh, Jocelyn Cottencin and the students of the Dance department of the Conservatoire
Cheree Cheree* is a workshop in which Emmanuelle Huynh and Jocelyn Cottencin transmit to eight students a lexicon of gestures and movements from their piece/installation A taxi driver, An architect and the High Line. This work intertwines evocations of certain Judson Church performances and choreographers from that period, associated with a physical vocabulary developed in New York through encounters with a taxi driver, an architect and an old subway line. Cheree Cheree tests this idea of doing together individually, doing together but separately.
* Cheree, Cheree refers to the eponymous song by the band Suicide released in 1977.
