    The biggest nature race in eastern France, the Trail des forts de Besançon offers five atypical courses of 60, 36, 21, 11 and 4km against the clock, combining nature and heritage in harmony and allowing you to discover the fortifications listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

    All the runners have access to the famous Citadelle and its vertiginous passageway with a view of the finish, and the main course even includes a visit to all 10 of the 18th and 19th century forts that protect the Vauban city. With its start/finish site on the banks of the Doubs, in the historic town centre of the capital of Besançon, a green city par excellence, the 21st Trail des forts de Besançon is taking things in its stride. More than 6,000 runners are expected in 2024, confirming the growing enthusiasm of enthusiasts from all over France.
