In 1789, François Gabriel de Chappuis de Rosières (1736-1814) decided to modernise his residence in the rue des Chambrettes (Place Pasteur). He entrusted these exterior and interior transformations to Antoine Colombot, one of the most talented neoclassical architects in Franche-Comté.
This commission gave rise to what was, without doubt and unfortunately for a very short time, one of the most magnificent and refined salons in Besançon, the combination of precious furniture with the ornaments of the woodwork and consoles. This conference aims to retrace the history and destiny of this dispersed masterpiece.
